Simple Dream captures the spirit of Linda Ronstadt’s music with electrifying performances that recreate her iconic sound.
About the Band
Our seasoned musicians and vocalists, honed by over 40 years in the Dallas music scene, bring unparalleled expertise and passion to recreate the magic of Linda Ronstadt.
Amy Lane | Lead Vocals

As a Dallas native, Amy grew up around live music. Her dad, Mike (who also plays guitar for Simple Dream), has been a fixture in the DFW music scene for years. Weekends were spent soaking up the atmosphere of his shows, and this early exposure to live music sparked a fire within Amy. By 15, she set her sights on Nashville, recording demos with Tim McGraw’s band, the Dancehall Doctors.
Amy’s musical compass took a detour, as she became drawn to the power and soul of vocalists like Bonnie Raitt, Besse Smith, Janis Joplin, and Susan Tedeschi. But Linda Ronstadt became a revelation – defying labels with the versatility of her voice, inspiring Amy to continue exploring multiple genres of music.
For the past 15 years, Amy has played with a variety of bands traversing genres from classic rock and metal to blues and country. When the chance arose to front Simple Dream – a dream team of North Texas’ finest musicians – and pay tribute to the legendary “Queen of L.A.,” it was a no-brainer. This wasn’t just a band, it was a musical destiny.
Wayne Tibbit | Piano, Organ, Keyboards

Wayne was trained on trumpet from the age of 8 through college, but started playing the Hammond organ and trumpet in Louisiana honkytonks in his early teens, beginning as a member of Rockabilly great Al Ferrier’s house band at the storied Lake Club in the 1960’s. He worked his way through the university playing in nightclub house bands and in one-night stands with frat party and R & B bands throughout Louisiana.
Eventually arriving in Dallas in the 80’s, Wayne played the Hammond and keyboards in blues and cover bands for a few years, and a few decades with the British Invasion-focused band Spector’s Gun Collection, and next, the Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute, Texas Flood, traveling around Texas and performing in every major music venue and festival event in DFW. Wayne has finally realized a long-time musical dream in Simple Dream, a loving tribute to Linda Ronstadt.
Roy Lyle | Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Roy is a guitar player who specializes in versatility – Rock, Country, Blues, Slide, Folk, Jazz, etc. Foregoing a promising future in the janitorial services industry, he obtained a degree in music theory from Webster University. Roy has performed with the Stoneleighs (Rolling Stones tribute), A Moment’s Notice (Rock/Country Party Band), No Medina (Eclectic Jazz and World Beat), Big Joe Walker (Texas Country), Rory Feek of Rory and Joey (Country), Starfire (Classic Rock and Party Band), ranging from tributes to country, to classic rock to jazz and world beat, including The Stoneleighs, Big Joe Walker, No Medina and Starfire.

Mike Jones | Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Music found Mike at an early age, with his first guitar arriving as a surprise under the Christmas tree at 11. By 15, he was already channeling his heroes, from Chuck Berry’s infectious energy to Jeff Beck’s masterful technique.
For over four decades, Mike’s guitar work has graced stages across Dallas and Fort Worth. He’s rocked with Starfire, the ultimate party band specializing in classic rock, and explored a vast musical landscape with other groups, covering everything from The Allman Brothers, blues and country to rockabilly and 80s anthems. From intimate private clubs to bustling nightspots, radio stations, the Texas State Fair, and even the legendary House of Blues, Mike has brought his music to life in a variety of venues.
When not performing with Simple Dream, Mike spends time on a new adventure with his solo rockabilly act, “Rock the Old Man,” proving that age is just a number when it comes to the power of music.
Lee Malin | Drums

Like thousands of other drummers, Lee was inspired by Ringo Starr’s work with The Beatles. His other drumming inspirations are many, including Rick Marotta and Russ Kunkel and their work with Linda Ronstadt during the early part of her career.
Lee spent seven years playing six nights a week doing the cover band circuit in the 70’s and 80’s and hasn’t stopped playing since. He continues to study and enjoys playing many different styles of music. Lee is masterful in role, laying down the rhythm in a supporting cast of musicians who play for the song.
Thoughts from Lee… “Though I’m a drummer, I love and appreciate lyrics and vocal harmonies more than anything. I’m honored to play Linda Ronstadt’s catalogue of music with Simple Dream.”
